A day of scorching hot weather and 30 bands from across the state. But it all boiled down to sweet sixteen.
15 bands were done and gone. Only one remained. The time was late, the sky was dark, and then much of the crowd rose to their feet as 176 patriots took the field and began to sway. They played with all of their hearts, they never missed a beat, the flags were shown in various colors and left the spectators breathless in their seats.
In 10 minutes they were done and marched proudly off the field, knowing they had given it their all and only time would tell. But in the hearts of all who marched, of all who directed, of all who cheered, and of all who watched, we knew they had done their best and only the judges could tell the rest!
How does this story end?
How else but with the Jay County Marching Patriots taking first place once again!
